The persons with mild acne problems and who wants to control further spreading up of acne and to clear up troublesome pimples can use over-the-counter creams.

In the case of mild acne topical medicine is effective. Doctors usually suggest to clean up the acne infected area with a mild soap before applying topical treatment. In the moderate stage of acne doctors after observation give treatments like light therapy and extraction, in combination with the oral antibiotic or a retinoid cream. When acne is developed to severe stage, the first step of doctors and dermatologists is to halt the spreading up of the disease any further, by giving combination of treatments so that the effect is the maximum.
